Srimaccafes: E-Commerce for a Waffle cup — Caching, Payments & Admin UX

Overview

Srimaccafes is a production e-commerce platform built for a specialty waffle cup. The project required handling image-heavy product pages at scale, processing payments reliably via Razorpay, and building an admin dashboard usable by non-technical staff.

Problem

Off-the-shelf e-commerce solutions were either too expensive or too rigid for a small coffee brand. The client needed a custom solution that could handle high traffic volumes, deliver images quickly, process payments without errors, and be managed by staff with no coding experience.

Solution

Built a custom Next.js platform with MongoDB for product data, Redis for caching, Razorpay for payments, and Cloudinary for media. The admin dashboard was designed with non-technical users in mind, featuring WYSIWYG editing, drag-and-drop uploads, and an order management workflow.

Technical Architecture

• Frontend: Next.js with SSR, Tailwind CSS, mobile-first responsive design
• Backend: Next.js API routes, MongoDB with Prisma
• Caching: Redis for product queries and session data
• Payments: Razorpay with webhook validation and idempotent order handling
• Media: Cloudinary for responsive image delivery and transformations
• Admin: Custom dashboard for inventory, orders, and content management

Results

• Redis cache hit rate: 94% for product listings
• Zero duplicate orders after idempotent webhook handling
• Lighthouse SEO score improved from 54 to 92
• Admin dashboard usable by non-technical staff with zero training
